As a Per Diem Residential Counselor, you will provide direct support to people with intellectual and developmental disabilities in a small group residential setting or an individual living arrangement. In this role you will work together with the people we serve, their families, friends, employers, and other support staff to transform their lives by building independence skills or increasing each person's quality of life.

Bonus Genre Program

Employees are eligible for one of the following bonuses based on the number of hours worked hom month. The maximum bonus to be paid in a命 month is $150.

  • Bonus applies to all Per Diem Counselors working at the listed programs.
  • $100 bonus for staff working their first 24 direct care shift hours in a month.
  • $150 bonus for staff working their first 32 direct care shift hours in a month.

Programs participating in the bonus program:
Randolph, Canton, and Norwood.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in developing, implementing, and documenting individual treatment support plans.
  • Responsible for a variety of daily tasks with persons served, including behavioral interventions, scheduling appointments, providing transportation, and monitoring progress.
  • Act as a role model and support staff to enable full integration into the community.
  • Assess physical and emotional status of persons served and report changes to the supervisor.
  • Ensure program site safety, oversee cleaning and maintenance tasks such as cooking, meal planning, grocery shopping, housekeeping, lawn mowing, and garbage removal.
  • Comply with corporate and divisional policies, safe work practices, workers’ compensation, universal precautions, and exposure control.
  • Store, administer, document, and dispose of medication in accordance with MAP/MAC requirements.
  • Maintain paperwork and logs: communication logs, community membership logs, chore schedules, timesheets, and application forms.
  • Perform crisis interventions as needed.
  • Provide current contact information to Relief Pool Coordinator or Human Resources staff.
  • Perform other related duties as required.

Qualifications
  • Must work a minimum of 2 direct care shifts per month, engaging in shifts at various programs.
  • One to three months of experience in a human services setting (may be substituted with relevant academic training).
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Valid driver’s license; may be ffi required if driving; must maintain a safe driving record and adequate insurance for a personal vehicle.
  • Physical effort: able to stand, walk, bend, kneel, lift at least 25 pounds using proper techniques, operate computer equipment, and assist clients with daily living tasks.
  • Certifications:

    First Aid and CPR within two weeks of hire;
    Medication Administration Program (MAP) within 150 days of hire.
