Overview

Summary:

Under limited supervision, assists with the day-to-day operations of the Food and Nutrition Department. Directs the work of employees to ensure high-quality standards of operation and compliance.

• Ensure daily operation of the Food and Nutrition Department — Main Kitchen, Room Service, Catering, Receiving, and the Retail Outlet. Complete opening and closing checklist per department regulations. Conduct audits to evaluate food items, portion control, temperature logs, meal rounds, test trays, Host/Hostess audits, and PI data. Assist in maintaining financial records. Maintain appearance and merchandising of retail areas appropriate to the assigned retail location.
  
  Ensure proper safety and sanitation standards per hospital policy and government regulatory agencies. Check equipment and order repairs/maintenance as needed. Supervise sanitation and special cleaning projects. Conduct monthly sanitation and Safety Inspection Report. Ensure teamwork among co-workers and staff by acting as a role model, utilizing best practices, and customer service models, while maintaining a positive and professional attitude. Assist with training of new employees in the department.
  
  Participate in department meetings, in-service as well as safety classes. Take an active role in presenting a professional image of the organization by following the established dress code for the department/Hospital and maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
