Job Overview

SAMLARC is seeking a Lifestyle Coordinator who thrives in a fast‑paced, collaborative environment. The ideal candidate enjoys engaging members, has community event experience, and is organized and strategic. The role ensures the enjoyment and satisfaction of all engagement activities, lifestyle events and programs for the SAMLARC Community.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in the development, coordination and implementation of customized large‑scale community events.
  • Ensure accurate documentation for all community program plans, vendor contacts and financial event summaries.
  • Maintain the master community event calendar and provide timely reports to the Community Lifestyle Manager and executive officers.
  • Develop positive relationships with the City of Rancho Santa Margarita Community Services Department and other recreation and community event service providers.
  • Assist with vendor and class instructor administration and oversight.
  • Create and implement survey tools to identify local recreational programs and community events of interest to SAMLARC residents.
  • Implement the board‑approved sponsorship plan and identify resources that enhance partnership and sponsorship events.
  • Monitor event and program expenditures to remain within budget.
  • Support the Community Lifestyle Committee and manage the approved Volunteer Development Plan.
  • Assist in website content updates and in the creation and promotion of flyers, flyers and other collateral to promote events and recreational programs.
Skills & Qualifications
  • Public charisma and ability to develop positive relationships.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with demonstrated ability to multi‑task.
  • Strong ethical practices and exercise budgetary knowledge for recreation programs and community events.
  • Excellent general math skills, proficient in English and graphic design tools (preferably Canva).
  • Bilingual Spanish helpful.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to handle pressure and meet deadlines.
Education & Experience
  • Minimum 4‑year college degree, preferably with a Recreation Management emphasis.
  • Minimum 2 years of public or private sector recreation community event coordination programming experience.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience working with Volunteer Boards, Committees or Commissions.
  • Proven track record for successful fundraising and/or sponsorship programs.
  • Committed to continual learning through seminars and industry programs.
Physical Requirements & Working Environment
  • Must be able to lift 25 lbs.
  • Must have finger dexterity for typing/using a keyboard.
  • Must be able to sit for long periods at a desk and mobile enough to move around office during programs or outside events.
  • Consistent and regular attendance required.
  • Hours over and above normal office hours will occur, including weekends and holidays.
Tools & Equipment Used

General office equipment.

Travel

A valid California State Driver’s License and state‑mandated vehicle insurance for errands, meetings and travel.
