Accounting Manager
The Accounting Manager is responsible for leading the monthly close process from start to finish and managing Accounts Payable operations.
What You Will Do Month-End Close- Fully own and drive the monthly close process.
- Prepare and review key reconciliations, AP aging, GR/IR, accruals, prepaids, and other balance sheet accounts.
- Ensure all journal entries, reconciliations, and schedules are accurate and completed on time.
- Proactively identify and resolve discrepancies with minimal supervision.
- Support the Controller and Director of Finance with monthly and quarterly reporting packages and variance analyses.
- Oversee the full AP cycle including invoice entry, 3-way match, approvals, and payment processing.
- Strengthen AP controls, refine workflows, and maintain vendor relationships.
- Ensure timely payment runs aligned with organizational cash‑flow priorities.
- Manage, mentor, and develop AP specialist.
- Establish clear expectations, ensure accountability, and lead by example.
- Run day-to-day accounting operations independently, escalating issues appropriately.
- Champion process discipline, documentation, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Partner cross‑functionally to resolve root causes and reduce recurring issues.
- Support annual audit activities by preparing schedules and required documentation.
- Execute key control activities to support compliance and accurate financial reporting.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 5–8+ years of progressive accounting experience, including:
- 3+ years in accounting leadership roles.
- Direct responsibility for month‑end close.
- Team oversight or lead experience.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, internal controls, and account reconciliations.
- Proficiency with ERP systems (Net Suite, SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, etc.).
- Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, reconciliations, nested formulas).
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize effectively, and drive outcomes.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to partner cross‑functionally.
- High attention to detail and commitment to accurate, timely reporting.
- Experience in multi‑entity or multi‑currency environments.
- Background in services, consumer products, or manufacturing.
- Experience with process automation, ERP upgrades, or system implementations.
