Registered Nurse; RN-Medical Surgical 2E

Provides direct patient care, collaborates with patients, families, peers, physicians, and other members of the healthcare team in the delivery of health services to the specific patient population. Assesses patient needs, plans care, implements, and evaluates patient care based on the nurse’s knowledge of growth and development, hospital and nursing philosophy, policies, procedures, and standards. Demonstrates leadership skills and a commitment to professional accountability and growth.

Required:

Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or Master’s degree in Nursing, or enrollment in an RN-BSN or RN-MSN program within one year of hire, with completion within five years if hired after July 1, 2012.

Required:

California RN licensure; BLS from AHA required upon hire;
Additional certifications as per department, including ACLS, PALS, Neonatal Resuscitation, and others relevant to the assigned department. Specific timelines for certification completion vary.

Required:

One year of acute care RN experience or successful completion of Eisenhower’s Nurse Residency Program. Preferred:
Experience in the area of specialty.

• Assessing patients comprehensively, performing initial and ongoing assessments, and documenting findings.
• Participating in care planning and multidisciplinary team collaboration.
• Implementing and revising care plans based on patient status changes.
• Providing patient education and discharge planning.
• Maintaining professional development and compliance with policies.
• Utilizing effective communication skills and supporting team functions.
• Engaging in quality improvement initiatives and professional growth activities.
