Position: Local Contract Patient Care Tech - $18 per hour

Integrated Healthcare Services is seeking a local contract Patient Care Tech for a local contract job in Rancho Mirage, California.

This is a 13 week contract-to-hire position.
Local candidates only (within 45 miles of work facility) Job Duties

  • Provide accurate, efficient patient scheduling, registration, and check-in experiences
  • Deliver excellent customer service by offering clear options, guidance, and support to patients
  • Accurately register patients, verify identities using two identifiers, and prevent duplicate medical records
  • Verify, update, and document insurance eligibility and benefits
  • Collect patient financial responsibilities (co-pays, deductibles, fees) at or before time of service and issue receipts
  • Complete eCheck-in verification and in-person check-in processes
  • Scan and upload photo IDs and insurance cards
  • Prepare and complete Medicare documentation, including ABNs, LMRP requirements, and Medicare Screening Forms
  • Ensure all required regulatory, insurance, and consent paperwork is complete and compliant
  • Answer, route, and manage incoming calls, faxes, and messages promptly and professionally
  • Perform daily cash balancing per departmental guidelines
  • Maintain registration accuracy rate of 97% or higher and meet productivity standards
  • Address patient concerns using appropriate escalation pathways
  • Comply with departmental policies, Code of Conduct, safety protocols, dress code, and professional boundaries
  • Complete all required training, orientation, and competency requirements on time
  • Assist clinic staff to ensure timely patient registration flow
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications & Skills

Education:

  • Preferred:
    High School Diploma/GED or equivalent experience

Licensure/Certification:

  • None required

Experience (Preferred):

  • Healthcare or customer service experience
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, insurance verification, payment processing
  • Familiarity with hospital-based regulations, federal rules, and safety practices
