Overview
We are looking for an experienced Quality Assurance Manager to lead its Quality & Product Safety team within a food and dietary supplement manufacturing environment. This is a high-impact leadership role responsible for ensuring regulatory compliance, maintaining product integrity, and driving continuous improvement across plant operations.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and implement comprehensive Food Safety, Packaging Quality, and Product Quality programs
- Ensure compliance with FDA, USDA, GFSI, and state/local regulations
- Serve as Food Safety Program Coordinator, HACCP Coordinator, and PCQI
- Act as site liaison for third-party audits and quality initiatives
- Lead, coach, and develop QA/QC team members
- Foster a culture of accountability and continuous improvement
- Manage sampling and testing programs (raw materials, packaging, in-process, finished goods)
- Oversee Hold & Release programs
, non-conforming inventory, and corrective actions - Lead root cause analysis and CAPA processes
- Monitor KPIs and drive plant-wide quality performance improvements
- Support sanitation validation, allergen control, GMP compliance, and pest control programs
- Conduct plant-wide training on HACCP, Food Safety, Sanitation, and Quality Standards
- Ensure compliance documentation and audit readiness at all times
- Manage QA department budget and supply inventory
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Biology, Chemistry, Engineering, or related field
- 8+ years of quality leadership experience in food or dietary supplement manufacturing
- Strong knowledge of FDA regulations including 21 CFR Parts 101, 111, 117, 201, 210, 211, & 820
- HACCP & PCQI Certification
- Proven leadership and team management experience
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Schedule flexibility, including occasional weekends
Preferred:
- Experience with NSF, SQF, or other third-party audit systems
- Knowledge of Lean or Six Sigma quality improvement tools
- Spanish language proficiency
