JOB SUMMARY:
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintenance and services of NWM buildings related to painting, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, landscaping, environmental, and safety.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Keep the buildings in a clean and orderly condition by examining the buildings on a regular basis for needed repairs, maintenance, and cleanliness.
- Perform general building and fixture repairs.
- Resolve general facilities and maintenance requests.
- Follow facilities department policy, procedure, and standards.
- Assist with space planning and office moves.
- Responsible for basic equipment and furniture assembly.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Familiar with fire, life, safety programs.
- Working knowledge of building codes.
- Ability to read basic blueprints.
- Knowledge of building infrastructure - mechanical, electrical, plumbing (MEP).
- Must be able to work independently with little or no supervision.
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Microsoft Office preferred (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- 3+ years' experience in all phases of grounds and maintenance services.
- Experience with Cal-OSHA, NFPA, and Hazardous waste handling preferred.
- Must be able to safely lift and/or handle items weighing up to 60 pounds on occasion. This may be performed with reasonable accommodation.
- Ability to work safely and comfortably at heights of up to 50 feet on occasion. This may or may not include climbing (ascending/descending) a ladder and twisting the body safely to handle maintenance requests and repairs.
- Must be able to use tools by hand safely to complete maintenance requests.
- Must be able to detect maintenance issues and visually read blueprints, documentation, and other written material.
- Ability to work in outdoor weather conditions on occasion.
- Ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl to complete maintenance requests as needed.
- View and type on computer screens for long periods of time.
Salary Description
$27 - $31/hour
