Job Description & How to Apply Below

At My Rights Law, we don’t just process cases; we protect lives. We are a premier criminal defense firm dedicated to the principle that every person deserves a zealous, high-caliber defense regardless of the charges against them. We are currently seeking an experienced, powerhouse Criminal Defense Attorney to join our mission‑driven team. If you are a trial‑ready advocate who thrives in the courtroom and believe that the “presumption of innocence” is a mandate, not a suggestion, we want to hear from you.

You will step into a dynamic role managing a diverse caseload of state and federal matters, ranging from DUIs and misdemeanors to complex, high‑stakes felonies. At My Rights Law, you won’t be stuck in a library doing research for years—you will be in the courtroom, at the negotiating table, and on the front lines of justice.

Day‑to‑Day
  • Strategic Litigation: Managing cases from initial intake through trial or resolution.
  • Courtroom Advocacy: Conducting preliminary hearings, arguing evidentiary motions, and leading jury trials.
  • Client Empowerment: Navigating clients through the most stressful moments of their lives with empathy, clarity, and authoritative guidance.
  • Masterful Drafting: Crafting persuasive motions and legal briefs that challenge the prosecution’s narrative.
Why My Rights Law?
  • Mentorship & Growth: Work alongside seasoned trial attorneys who are invested in your professional development.
  • Innovative Environment: We utilize a tech‑forward, streamlined approach to practice management so you can focus on lawyering, not paperwork.
  • Work‑Life Synergy: We play hard and win big, but we respect that our attorneys are at their best when they have the balance needed to recharge.
Responsibilities
  • Complete legal research and prepare motions, pleadings, and briefs.
  • Draft correspondence, legal pleadings, motions, and briefs.
  • Argue motions in court on behalf of clients during legal proceedings.
  • Oversee paralegals, law clerks, and administrative staff.
  • Take responsibility for administrative staff relating to client invoicing/billing records, setting up meetings with clients and completing tasks.
  • Determine case strategies and solutions to serve clients’ needs after analysis.
  • Provide legal counsel to clients by analyzing their needs and determining a proper course of action.
Qualifications
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office is required.
  • Strong knowledge of legal research programs such as Westlaw and Lexis products is required.
  • Decision‑making, public speaking, problem‑solving, interpersonal skills, and communication skills are a must.
  • Over 1 year of experience representing clients in a law firm.
  • Candidates must currently be a member of their local bar association - active member preferred.
  • Able to work independently while handling multiple files.
Compensation
