Behavior Technician – Positive Behavior Steps
The Behavior Technician role at Positive Behavior Steps supports children and adolescents diagnosed with Autism and other developmental disabilities. Under the supervision of a Board‑Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA), the technician implements evidence‑based behavior intervention methods specific to each child's treatment plan.
Pay & Benefits- Base pay range: $21.00/hr – $24.00/hr (based on experience)
- Paid 40‑hour new hire orientation/training
- Afternoon Shift: Monday‑Friday (Flexible Hours)

- Opportunity to obtain Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification under BCBA supervision. RBT credential leads to higher pay bracket
- Report to Clinical Supervisor (BCBA).
- Work 1:1 with the client.
- Utilize strategies in applied behavior analysis as per the client's behavior intervention plan.
- Regularly analyze client strengths and assess needs.
- Notify clinical team of newly observed target behaviors.
- Document significant behavior changes accordingly.
- Recognize and respond appropriately to challenging behaviors.
- Perform data collection consistently.
- Monitor client's progression according to goals outlined in a behavior intervention plan.
- Actively communicate session cancellations with the Scheduler and coordinate makeup sessions.
- Ensure compliance with organizational policies and state and federal regulations.
- Check the PBS Outlook email account regularly and respond promptly.
- Participate in required team meetings.
- Complete mandatory and ongoing (paid) training.
- Additional responsibilities as assigned by the Supervisor.
- Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and a working cellular phone.
- Open availability at least 4 days per week, plus one weekend day if requested by management.
- Will commute a minimum of 15–20 miles outside of the applied position.
- Minimum high school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- Experience working with individuals diagnosed with developmental disabilities is preferred, not required.
- RBT certification a plus.
- Skills in time management, communication, organization, and documentation.
- Familiarity with Office 365 or proficiency in Microsoft Office preferred.
- New hires expected to complete a background check through the DOJ and FBI.
