THE OPPORTUNITY

The Inland Empire Utilities Agency (IEUA) is seeking a detail-oriented and collaborative Maintenance Planner/Scheduler to support the reliability, safety, and regulatory compliance of the Agency’s critical infrastructure assets. This role is ideal for a proactive professional with strong experience in maintenance planning, scheduling, and Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) administration who thrives in a highly coordinated, operations-focused environment.

As part of the Inland Empire Regional Composting Authority team, you will play a key role in developing and implementing preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance strategies that optimize asset performance and resource utilization. Working closely with managers, supervisors, operations staff, and external contractors, you will define scopes of work, build job plans, ensure materials and resources are available, and develop short- and long-term maintenance schedules.

You will also analyze maintenance data, generate performance reports, and support continuous improvement initiatives that enhance equipment reliability, reduce downtime, and improve overall efficiency. This position offers a meaningful opportunity to contribute to essential public services by strengthening maintenance execution, supporting operational excellence, and extending the lifecycle of vital Agency assets.

EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE

Graduation from high school or GED equivalent, and at least five years of progressive responsible experience in the design, installation, maintenance and repair of complex water and wastewater facilities and systems; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a major in business or public administration, life sciences, engineering or a closely related field is highly desirable.

Experience working in a public agency or regulated environment is preferred.
