The Library will be recruiting for a full-time Librarian I and a full-time Librarian II position to serve in the following divisions:

Second Story and Beyond® Children’s Museum Services.

Candidate may be considered based on interests, education, and experience.

Librarian I You'll be responsible for:

  • Creating the work schedules for the division.
  • Working with the Senior Librarian, Librarian II, and part-time staff to develop in-depth, educational programming for space.
  • Acting as the designated “person in charge” and ensure the adherence to the Library’s Code of Conduct and policies.
  • Working with local schools to plan educational field trips at the facility.
  • Coordinating with interested parties in renting rooms in the facility.
  • Selecting new print materials to be added to the division’s collection.
  • Other professional and organizational duties as needed.

Librarian II You'll be responsible for:

  • Working with the Senior Librarian to plan, organize, lead, and supervise the day-to-day operations of the division.
  • The development, recommendation, and implementation of long-range goals, objectives and policies relevant to the division.
  • Monitoring and evaluating trends in library and museum services, technology, early learning, outreach services, and within the community.
  • Setting the tone for the team, providing inspiration and direction. Cultivating and fostering a positive, collaborative, creative and productive work environment.
  • Hiring, training, supervising, and managing team members and volunteers.
  • Assisting with the management of the division’s budget, resources, and equipment orders.
  • Assisting with data collection, reports, and evaluations of programs and services as needed.
  • Acting as the designated “person in charge” and ensure the adherence to the Library’s Code of Conduct and policies.
  • Serving as a liaison on behalf of your division at meetings, appearances, and events.
  • Managing the procurement efforts to create new exhibits and themes.
  • Working collaboratively to develop and maintain the museum materials collection.
  • Managing, creating, and leading a variety of relevant educational programs for children of all ages such as story times, reading programs, tours, and workshops/classes.
  • Other professional and organizational duties as needed.
