Overview
Chaffey College is seeking a full-time, tenure-track Nursing instructor in the Health and Wellness Academic & Career Community. The assignment provides a full professional service week throughout the 176-day academic calendar. This position is for the Rancho Cucamonga campus and may include teaching classes at the Fontana and Chino campuses.

Responsibilities- Provide instruction in a manner consistent with the District's standards and in accordance with the approved course outlines of record
- Effectively develop and maintain culturally-sensitive and equity-minded learning environments
- Demonstrate cultural competence and sensitivity to the diverse backgrounds of students, faculty, and staff as it relates to equity-minded practice
- Provide a safe and positive educational environment conducive to effective learning
- Deliver instruction and student support in multiple formats (online, in-person, hybrid, hyflex, fast-track, accelerated, etc.)
- Maintain current knowledge in the discipline and employ innovative methods for in-person and online education
- Maintain professional and ethical standards; promote learning and achievement through effective teaching techniques
- Participate in department and college meetings, governance, curriculum and program design, assessment of student learning outcomes, outreach, and related duties to benefit students and the college
- Engage students to promote critical thinking, collaboration, and empathy
- Participate in professional development, mentoring, committees, academic senate, and related activities
- Day, evening, and/or weekend assignments at any College campus may be part of the regular contract
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Master’s degree in Nursing; OR
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing AND Master’s degree in health education or health science; OR
- The minimum qualifications as set by the Board of Registered Nursing (whichever is higher); OR
- The equivalent (as described in the Faculty Application for Employment)
- Demonstrated sensitivity to and understanding of diverse backgrounds in a community college environment
Required Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Education in Nursing (MSN with educational specialty or post-master’s certificate in nursing education) OR Master’s degree in Nursing with evidence of recent nursing education experience
- Current California Registered Nursing license by date of employment; recent direct patient care practice in the nursing area to which assigned (as specified)
- Evidence of clinical teaching experience in medical-surgical nursing or related areas and at least one year of academic nursing teaching experience or equivalent
- Completion of at least one year of teaching courses related to registered nursing, or completion of a relevant post-baccalaureate program with teaching practice
MEETING MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS DOES NOT ASSURE THE CANDIDATE OF AN INTERVIEW. Applications will be evaluated based on education, experience, skills, knowledge, and abilities.
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS- Two years of recent teaching experience in a related discipline
- Experience with multiple instructional modalities (online, in-person, hybrid, hyflex, fast-track, accelerated)
- Commitment to culturally-responsive instruction and equity-based student support
- Commitment to supporting students on all academic pathways
- Experience with the college equity plan and with ZTC/OER materials
- Experience teaching in an Associate Degree Nursing program; pediatric nursing experience or BRN approval as an instructor in pediatrics
- Experience with simulated learning or ACEN accreditation in nursing programs
