CDM Smith is looking for an excited candidate to join our team in Rancho Cucamonga, CA! This opportunity is perfect for a new graduate looking to jump into the construction industry at a company that hires for careers, not jobs. This is a dynamic role with a variety of duties based on the project type and timeline that provides technical, field, and site administration.

We are looking for a construction specialist to join our CCI electrical and automation team in the Panel shop at our Rancho Cucamonga, CA location. The Construction Specialist will work directly with our panel shop manager. Assisting with the following but not limited to administrative duties surrounding new panel builds and day to warehouse/shop activities. Review project drawings and develop design submittals, work with various CDM Smith project teams.

May be working on multiple projects, materials procurement, shipping and receiving, quality control, multiple deadlines and overlapping schedules. Various logs and maintenance for reporting to project teams. Develop and maintain fabrication schedules look a-heads, weekly updates, safety meetings, logs, RFI's, attend design meetings & calls as needed. Some site visits may be required. Support in shop factory acceptance testing that requires the client/subs to be present at CDM Smith shop to witness testing, prepare shop for these visits, prepare all documentation, assist with panel/equipment readiness prior to these visits/testing activities.

Communications with project team, clients, owners and all other interested parties may be required at times.

They will ensure the timely arrival and installation of materials and equipment with field personnel and vendors. They will prepare and review submittals of increasing complexity, issue construction documents and layouts to field crews, answer questions, and prepare daily reports. The Construction Specialist interprets specifications and drawings. Assist with developing final record drawings and as-builts as needed. May need to ensure that all close-out submittals are documented and approved.

Work with the Team as needed to complete final inspections, punch list and ensure client satisfaction. The Construction Specialist will perform other tasks as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management or related discipline. 0 years. Domestic and/or international travel may be required. The frequency of travel is contingent on specific duties, responsibilities, and the essential functions of the position, which may vary depending on workload and project demands. Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.

Preferred Qualifications

All Microsoft applications, experienced with Excel worksheet development and maintenance. AutoCAD, Bluebeam, AI applications & Chat With. Outlook & Teams.
