Overview

The position involves operating a company service truck and driving to various locations to service/pump/clean portable restrooms and holding tanks under the supervision of the Branch Supervisor.

Pay Range

$21.00 - $26.00 per hour + Prevailing Wage Jobs

Shift/Hours

Monday – Friday;
Weekends as needed.

Position Purpose/Summary

Under the general supervision of the Branch Supervisor, Service Technicians are responsible for operating a company service truck and driving to various locations to service/pump/clean portable restrooms and holding tanks.

Duties And Responsibilities
  • Conduct daily pre-shift and post-shift vehicle inspection and report deficiencies to shop immediately.
  • Report improper operation, faulty equipment, and unusual conditions to the Operations Supervisor/Manager.
  • Operate service trucks to and from pre-designated work sites based on daily routing information.
  • Maintain telephone or radio contact with dispatch to receive additional instructions, changes to work location, etc. to ensure the highest quality of customer service.
  • Service portable restrooms, holding tanks, sinks, showers, etc. at various work sites by following the company’s servicing guidelines.
  • Restock paper products, hand sanitizer, soap, etc. in every unit serviced.
  • Clean interior and exterior of units and add chemical solution to portable restroom units.
  • Maintain ongoing communication with supervisor on status of project(s), including any delays or change requests.
  • Complete all truck logs and necessary documentation in compliance with state and federal regulations.
  • Immediately report all work-related injury and/or accidents to Branch Supervisor/Manager.
  • All other duties as assigned.
Requirements Skills
  • Language skills:
    Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively communicate information in one-on-one conversation to customers and other employees of the organization.
  • Mathematical skills:
    Ability to perform simple arithmetic (add, subtract, multiply, and divide).
  • Ability to perform these operations using units of American currency, measurement, weight, and distance.
  • Reasoning ability:
    Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
  • Valid Non-Commercial California Class C Driver’s License and vehicle insurance at no less than California State minimum required limits of liability.

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to outside weather conditions (in some cases extreme heat/cold), moving mechanical parts, fumes, or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. This position requires employees to travel regularly to off-site work locations and as such use of a vehicle will be provided.
