You will participate in and lead the engineering and design of HVAC and plumbing systems for various facilities. This position focuses on:

• Design and construction activities, including project delivery methods such as traditional Design-Bid-Build and Alternative Conceptual-Bid-Build
• Designing HVAC and plumbing systems for Hyper-Scale and Colocation Data Center designs, including administrative and support spaces
• Supporting additional areas such as Administrative, Warehouse, Maintenance, Workshop, Laboratory, Chemical Storage & Handling, Electrical Distribution Center, Low & Medium Voltage Switchgear, Pump Areas, Engine Generator, Blowers/Air Compressors, and Flammable & Combustible Liquids Storage
• Conducting Data Center airflow CFD modeling for interior and exterior spaces
• Conducting energy audits/efficiency studies, code review/application, and sustainable design/LEED applications
• Developing engineering skills while working on challenging projects

The Mechanical Buildings Design Group provides HVAC and plumbing solutions across government, energy, technology, and commercial sectors, supporting projects globally. The team emphasizes collaboration, growth, and opportunities to apply diverse perspectives.

Basic knowledge of:

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering
• Previous experience in Data Center/Mission Critical Design
• Experience with construction support
• Understanding of design differences in Hyper-scale, edge and collation data centers
• Familiarity with Data Center tier rating systems
• Strong knowledge in Autodesk Revit
• Data Center airflow CFD modeling experience for internal and external evaluations
• Computer-generated HVAC cooling and heating loads and HVAC equipment sizing
• HVAC system energy modeling and energy codes
• Green building initiatives such as LEED
• Technical submittal and bid review processes for large-scale water and air cooled chiller plants
• ICC Suite of Codes, ASHRAE Handbooks/Standards, ASPE design handbooks, and SMACNA Standards
• NFPA Standards
• Attention to detail with the ability to manage competing priorities
• Cadence Reality Data Center Design (formerly 6
  
  Sigma Room)

Requires a bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited program or equivalent experience. Minimum of 5 years related work experience. All applicants must be able to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements (e.g., criminal/civil background check, drug screen, motor vehicle records) in compliance with applicable laws. Holds active engineering registration or licensure to support Engineer of Record requirements for BV projects in applicable countries, and supports where necessary.
