Bio Medical Engineer

Ensure the smooth functioning, maintenance, and management of medical devices and equipment at HRCCs in the Garhwal region.
Provide technical support, training, and preventive maintenance for biomedical equipment.
Contribute to audits, inspections, and overall operational efficiency of HRCC equipment.
Key Accountabilities
A. Equipment Procurement & Commissioning
Evaluate and support pre-purchase decisions for biomedical consumables and devices.
Commission and install equipment post-procurement.
Provide guidance for cost assessment, maintenance contracts, and repair scheduling.
B. Training & Technical Support
Train HRCC staff on device operation and applications.
Monitor breakdown management, analyze failures, and implement preventive measures.
Facilitate audits and inspections by internal/external teams.
C. Equipment & Risk Management
Implement equipment risk management strategies to reduce maintenance requirements.
Conduct internal device surveillance and adhere to updated technical standards.
Label, document, and manage condemned devices that cannot be repaired.
D. Inventory & Documentation
Maintain inventory of medical equipment, reagents, and consumables.
Prepare reports analyzing trends and summarizing device performance.
Ensure compliance with safety standards, IPHS/IMC protocols, and maintain patient confidentiality.
Share success stories and field insights with the project team.
Educational Qualifications
B.Tech in Biotechnology or relevant discipline.
Experience & Technical Requirements
Minimum 5 years of experience in public health programs with exposure to biomedical equipment management.
Knowledge of biomedical equipment maintenance, preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting.
Ability to conduct safety tests, manage inventory, and oversee technical audits.
Understanding of documentation standards and regulatory compliance for healthcare devices.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for device performance optimization.
