Healthcare Assistant – Continence Team

We are looking for a Healthcare Assistant to join our Continence Service within the Product Delivery Team. The Product Delivery Service is a specialist team that assesses and processes referrals for continence products, working closely with the home delivery contract product supplier and the Home Delivery Transport Team.

• Support the provision of high‑quality bladder and bowel care for adults in Kent, primarily through reassessment of product processes within the Product Delivery Service/Kent Continence Service.
• Advocate for patients with bladder and bowel dysfunction using a person‑centred approach, ensuring care meets NICE guidance, standards and local eligibility criteria.
• Assess, authorise and process product requests received via referrals from the Continence/Bladder & Bowel Service, Community Nursing Teams, Residential & Nursing Homes and other professionals.
• Confirm ownership of a full UK driving licence where driving is required; support candidates with disabilities to arrange alternative transport.
• Contribute to a flexible working arrangement (Full‑time, Part‑time or Shared hours) within community nursing covering M‑F 08:00‑17:00, as expressed on application.

• QCF Level 3 or equivalent (NVQ Level 3 apprenticeship, BTEC, etc.) or demonstration of equivalent experience.
• Functional Skills at Level 2 (Literacy and numeracy; GCSE grade A–C/4‑9 or equivalent in English and Maths).
• Recent experience as a Health Care Assistant gained through education, work experience or previous employment.
• Full, valid UK driving licence or UK‑equivalent licence issued by an EU country.
• Care Certificate desirable; otherwise supported to achieve within first 3 months.

• Customer‑focused approach, delivering an excellent experience to patients, clients and their families.
• Collaborate effectively with colleagues and other teams across the Trust.
• Proficient in using IT systems and databases.
• Up‑to‑date knowledge of clinical practice, evidence‑based procedures and clinical effectiveness frameworks.
• Ability to signpost clients and families to alternative services to support behaviour change and improve health.
• Awareness of developments within the NHS (advantageous).

£24,937 – £26,598 per annum (pro rata).
