Job Title:
Outbound/Inventory Lead - 2nd Shift (10AM-7PM)
We are seeking an Outbound/Inventory Lead to join our logistics team at Dillon Supply. In this pivotal role, you will oversee the inventory and shipping operations, ensuring accurate, efficient and timely dispatch of products in full compliance with safety and quality standards. You will be instrumental in optimizing shipping processes and leading a team of warehouse associates to achieve operational excellence.
Responsibilities- Oversee daily shipping activities, ensuring compliance with company policies and safety regulations
- Lead, train, and mentor a team of warehouse associates, fostering a culture of continuous improvement
- Coordinate with management to ensure accuracy in shipments and resolve discrepancies
- Develop and implement shipping procedures to enhance efficiency and reduce costs
- Monitor shipping metrics and prepare reports for management
- Oversee Inventory levels, including error logging, tracking and correction, as well as performing cycle counts, verification & problem reporting
Required:
- 2+ years of experience in shipping and logistics, with at least 1 year in a leadership role
- Strong understanding of shipping regulations and compliance requirements
- Proven track record of managing teams in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Proficiency operating sit-down forklifts, stand-up forklifts, order pickers, and pallet jacks
Preferred:
- Experience with shipping software and inventory management systems (ex. Quick Ship, UPS Worldship, Fed Ex Ship Manager, etc.)
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Experience with ERP systems and shipping software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar)
- Knowledge of hazmat & international shipping procedures and regulations
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, capable of motivating and guiding a diverse team
- Effective communicator, able to convey information clearly and concisely
- Problem-solving mindset with a focus on safety, accuracy & teamwork
