The Transportation Analyst plays a key role in improving and supporting GoRaleigh’s bus system with a focus on bus stop infrastructure, accessibility, and service support. This position works closely with the Bus and Bus Facilities team to help plan, coordinate, and implement bus stop improvements, service changes, and capital projects that directly affect the rider experience.

In this role, you will support the Bus Stop Improvements Program by tracking projects, coordinating with internal teams, vendors, and property owners, and assisting with field reviews and documentation. You will also contribute to service planning efforts, support capital projects, and help manage data, maps, and materials used to communicate changes to the public. This is an opportunity to work on visible, community-facing projects while building experience across transit operations, planning, and project coordination.

You are a transportation professional who is motivated by improving how people experience transit in their everyday lives. You enjoy working across data, field conditions, and implementation to turn ideas into real, on-the-ground improvements. You bring experience supporting transit services, bus stops, or transportation projects, and you are comfortable balancing analysis, coordination, and hands-on problem solving.

You are organized, detail oriented, and proactive, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. You communicate clearly with internal teams, consultants, vendors, and community members, and you understand the importance of equity, accessibility, and reliability in public transportation. You take initiative, ask thoughtful questions, and enjoy working on projects that range from bus stop improvements and service changes to supporting larger capital efforts that shape how the system grows over time.

You are eager to continue developing your technical and project coordination skills while contributing to work that is visible, impactful, and closely connected to rider needs.

The City of Raleigh’s Transit Division works to plan, build, and operate a transit system that supports mobility, access, and growth across the city and region. Within the Transit Division, the Bus and Bus Facilities Team focuses on improving the everyday rider experience through bus stop and shelter upgrades, service planning, capital projects, and coordination with regional partners under the Wake Transit Plan.

  • Lead day to day coordination of the Bus Stop Improvements Program, including planning, tracking, and supporting the delivery of bus stop, shelter, bench, and accessibility upgrades
  • Assist with service planning efforts by supporting route evaluations, service changes, detours, and coordination with operations and technology teams
  • Support capital transit projects by assisting with scope development, schedule tracking, consultant coordination, and field reviews
  • Coordinate with Real Estate, Engineering, contractors, and vendors to support bus stop sit لیت, property access, permits, and construction activities
  • Maintain and update project tracking tools, databases, maps, and documentation related to bus stops, service changes, and capital projects
  • Support public engagement efforts by assisting with outreach materials, responding regroup customer inquiries, and participating in community meetings or events related to transit projects
Education and Experience

Bachelor's Degree in Transportation Planning, Urban/Regional Planning, Transportation Engineering, or related field or related field; 3 to 5 years’ experience in transportation, urban or regional planning, transportation engineering, or related work
