Red Hat Engineering is seeking an exceptional Senior Software Engineer to join us. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to one of our most important and innovative projects:
Fleet Management - Console Next, working on Red Hat’s managed Open Shift services(Open Shift Cluster Management and Advanced Cluster Management) Consoles. You will be working closely with the Product Management team to deliver new frontend features so our customers can work efficiently with Fleet Management. As an engineer on the team, you’ll be involved in the complete software development lifecycle from ideation to writing code, reviewing pull requests and fixing bugs all within an agile environment.
You’ll need to be able to proactively utilize and experiment with AI-assisted tools and technologies, such as code generation, auto-completion, and intelligent suggestions, to accelerate development cycles, enhance code quality, and support test design, automation, and peer review throughout the development lifecycle. You’ll need to be someone who is smart, friendly, collaborative and who loves to learn.
Primary job responsibilities- Work across many different teams and technologies to tie together existing systems and tools.
- Design and develop new features and prototypes while collaborating with other team members, including User Experience Designers.
- Collaborate and innovate cross-functionally with other engineers and developers to deliver creative solutions, including product and infrastructure enhancements.
- Interface with Product Management to understand new features and ensure alignment during feature development.
- Collaborate with backend engineers to analyze the feature requirements from user perspective.
- Use agile software development methodologies to quickly adapt to changes in requirements.
- Work with Quality Engineers (QE) in the team to ensure that features are tested correctly.
- Proactively leverage AI technologies to streamline workflows, simplify processes, and enhance overall efficiency.
- Mentor and upskill junior engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous learning.
- Hands-on learning and demonstrable experience with implementing and contributing to complex features individually and in collaboration with others.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, or a technology-related discipline
- 5+ years of experience in software development or engineering
- 2+ years of experience programming with Java script and at least one UI framework;
React is preferred - 1+ years of experience with container technologies, such as Kubernetes/Open Shift and Podman is preferred
- 2+ years of experience programming with Go is a plus
- Experienced in Git and its workflows (rebasing, pull requests and merging)
- Ability to work in team and independently
- Experience designing REST API interfaces
- Passionate for building beautiful, intuitive user experiences
- Comfortable with rapid iteration and fast delivery
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
- Experience working in a Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) environment

Annual salary is one component of Red Hat’s compensation package. This position may also be eligible for bonus, commission, and/or equity. For positions with Remote-US locations, the actual salary range for the position may differ based on location but will be commensurate with job duties and relevant work experience.
