Senior Oracle APEX Developer

Data Staff, Inc. is seeking a Senior Oracle APEX Developer for a long‑term contract opportunity with one of our direct clients located in Raleigh, NC
. This position is on‑site.

Our client is looking for a highly experienced Senior Oracle APEX Developer with 6+ years of hands‑on experience in Oracle Application Express (APEX) and Oracle Database development. The successful candidate will be responsible for the design, development, and deployment of secure, modular, and responsive applications while ensuring database integrity, performance, scalability, and security. This role requires expert‑level hands‑on PL/SQL and APEX development, a security‑first build philosophy, and proven experience implementing Single Sign-On (SSO) with Entra  (Azure Active Directory) and OCID.

• Lead the design, development, and deployment of Oracle APEX applications with a security‑first mindset.
• Develop complex and efficient PL/SQL procedures, functions, packages, and triggers to support business logic.
• Design and optimize database objects (tables, views, indexes, materialized views, constraints).
• Collaborate directly with business analysts and clients in iterative, client‑facing solution design sessions.
• Drive performance tuning, SQL/PLSQL optimization, and security hardening.
• Integrate APEX applications with external systems using REST APIs, JSON/XML, and secure data exchange methods.
• Utilize and establish standards for modularity, reusability, and maintainability; support code reviews and documentation.
• Contribute to OCI (ExaCC) migration efforts as needed and support upgrades, patches, and new feature adoption.
• Serve as escalation point for complex production issues, with focus on authentication and security.
• Support Git Hub‑based workflows and Git Ops practices to improve automation, code management, and secure deployments.
• Promote knowledge transfer within the team as technical subject matter expert and through collaboration.
• Implement and maintain SSO authentication/authorization with Entra  (Azure Active Directory) and OCID.

• Experience with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), particularly ExaCC.
• Hands‑on expertise with Git Hub, Git Ops, and CI/CD pipelines for enterprise application delivery.
• Proven track record of performance tuning for enterprise APEX applications.
• Experience developing or extending custom APEX plug‑ins; knowledge of Oracle BI Publisher or Oracle Analytics Cloud.
• Familiarity with compliance frameworks (CIPA, FERPA, HIPAA, etc).

• 6 years expert proficiency in SQL and PL/SQL with focus on secure, performant coding.
• 6 years deep knowledge of Oracle Database (12c/19c or higher).
• Strong knowledge of application security frameworks, encryption, and compliance best practices.
• Proven experience with SSO integrations, specifically Entra  (Azure Active Directory).
• High experience with Git Hub, Git Ops, and Dev Ops‑driven automation.
• Excellent client‑facing communication skills to support iterative development with stakeholders.
