Position
Fire Alarm Installation Technician
Duties/Responsibilities- Diagnose system malfunctions of fire alarms and adjust, repair, or replace equipment as needed to bring into compliance.
- Prepare accurate and timely service tickets and reports.
- Work independently or supervise others as required.
- Complete documentation associated with fire alarm services provided.
- Provide customer service, coordination, and communication.
- Proven experience as a fire alarm installation technician.
- In-depth knowledge of fire alarm systems and related equipment.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Commitment to safety standards and protocols.
- NICET certifications a plus, but not required.
- Installation experience and prior construction experience a plus.
- Diagnosis and troubleshooting skills of commercial low voltage systems.
- Positive and respectful attitude to maintain good working relationships with management staff, employees, vendors, and customers.
- Competent computer skills.
- Field electrical and/or electronic practical experience required.
- AA degree in electronics preferred, but not required, or equivalent technical/Military school supplemented with 3-5 years of related industry experience is a plus.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Able to obtain Maryland and Virginia security technician licenses as required.
- Physically able to climb overhead or crawl under spaces to complete jobs.
- Willing to work at heights.
- Able to operate electrical tools.
- Able to differentiate color coding of cables.
- Able to lift up to 30 pounds at times.
