Field Mechanic – Raleigh, NC at Beaver Excavating Company
The Field Mechanic position is responsible for vehicle/equipment inspections, preventative maintenance, and repairs of vehicles and equipment.
Responsibilities- Conduct vehicle/equipment inspections
- Conduct preventative maintenance and repair on vehicle/equipment
- Identify, diagnose, and repair mechanical, hydraulic and electrical problems
- Evaluate equipment failures, determine cause and complete timely and effective repairs
- Use equipment repair manuals and order parts for repairs
- Other tasks assigned as needed
- Possesses mechanical/electrical/hydraulic knowledge on various types of construction equipment
- Self-motivated, responsible, able to work in all weather conditions
- Excellent problem solving and diagnostic ability
- Strong communication skills
- Moderate computer skills
- Must have working knowledge of various equipment diagnostic software
- Welding skills a plus
- Must be able to stay out of town as required
- Safe clean driving record
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 5 years of hands‑on equipment repair
- Must have Class B CDL at minimum
