We are hiring for a Heavy Equipment Operator at Paved Assets, a commercial paving contractor in North Carolina. This full-time role involves operating bulldozers, backhoes, rollers, and other machines on municipal, state, and commercial development projects across North Carolina. The work requires precision, patience, and pride in achieving accurate grades, slopes, and compaction tests.
LocationNorth Carolina – Travel to project sites required
About the RoleYou'll run bulldozers, backhoes, rollers, and other equipment as part of a disciplined paving crew. If you take satisfaction in operating equipment the right way and delivering quality results, this could be the opportunity for you.
Key Responsibilities- Operate bulldozers, skid steers, backhoes, pavers, and rollers
- Perform daily equipment inspections and basic maintenance
- Follow site sequencing, instructions, and traffic control plans
- Work with the paving crew to maintain safe, efficient job flow
- Report mechanical issues or unsafe conditions immediately
- Technically Skilled – You know your machines and how to run them with precision
- Safety-Focused – You follow rules, respect protocols, and protect your team
- Detail-Driven – You take pride in hitting specs and leaving a smooth finish
- Team-Oriented – You thrive in a coordinated crew environment
- 3+ years of heavy equipment experience (preferred: dozer, backhoe, roller)
- Valid driver's license required (CDL a plus)
- Knowledge of OSHA standards and safe jobsite practices
- Willingness to work long hours outdoors in varying conditions
