Description
Job Duties:
- Adhere to Newcomb and Company’s safety standards.
- Provide diagnostics and repair services on DDC (Direct Digital Control) systems and HVAC equipment as needed.
- Possess strong computer skills with working knowledge of BAS (Building Automation Systems), specifically Trane and Honeywell.
- Have in-depth knowledge of HVAC equipment, including heating, air conditioning, and refrigeration.
- Ability to troubleshoot DDC plant and field controllers using PC and meters.
- Understand HVAC standards and practices consistent with industry requirements.
- Have a good working knowledge of the design, operation, and maintenance of a wide range of commercial HVAC equipment.
* Skills/Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years of combined experience in Commercial Service/Controls.
- Participate in rotating after-hours controls-related on-call duties.
- Experience with large commercial package equipment, chillers, and water-cooled self-contained equipment.
- Provide superior customer service.
- Work well unsupervised to complete projects safely, efficiently, and proficiently.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., stand, bend, and kneel as needed.
- Comfortable climbing ladders and working from scissor lifts at heights.
- Diagnose energized equipment utilizing proper arc flash safety gear.
- Valid Driver’s License, able to pass drug test and background check.
- Provide own hand tools and meters; major tools and equipment are provided.
- Possess universal refrigerant certification.
- Require after-hours emergency and service repair responsibilities.
Physical Requirements and Job Environment:
- Must be reasonably physically fit and capable of lifting 50 lbs. of tools, equipment, or materials.
- Ability to stand, bend, and kneel when needed.
- Comfortable climbing ladders and working from scissor lifts at heights.
- Load and unload materials for projects, often carrying loads in tight and uneven terrains.
- Familiar with the safe operation of tools like hammer drills.
- Environmental conditions may vary from outdoor to indoor utility plants and offices.
