JOB OVERVIEW:

Join our Rental Homes Division as a full-time Field Estimator, where you'll play a crucial role in estimating carpet and vinyl flooring for residential homes. We're looking for individuals who are detail-oriented, possess excellent communication skills, and thrive in a dynamic, customer-focused environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Receive and respond to requests for estimating residential homes.

Professionally communicate with customers to ensure a smooth estimation process.

Conduct 5-8 on‑site measurements per day in both vacant and occupied homes and create seam diagrams for carpet, vinyl, tile, and wood layouts.

Generate "draw to scale" home diagrams and perform take‑offs/estimates for floor plans to create comprehensive bid packages.

Collaborate with internal sources, including subcontracted flooring installers.

Undertake other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Must have a valid driver's license and a clean driving record.

No prior estimating experience is required; we offer comprehensive training.

Strong mathematical skills with a commitment to accuracy and attention to detail.

Knowledgeable about various floor covering products, materials, transitions, and installation methods.

Self‑motivated and detail‑oriented, capable of working independently.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Customer service‑focused with the ability to build positive relationships.

Well‑organized and a creative problem solver.

Efficient multitasker with the ability to adapt to changing priorities.

Proficient in business software tools such as Word, Excel, etc., and quick to learn new software skills.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:

The essential duties of this position require the employee to work in a non‑temperature controlled warehouse environment. The environment may be hot, cold, dirty, dusty or otherwise uncomfortable. The employee is required to perform physical activities throughout each day, and must be able to lift and carry 50 to 75 pounds on a daily, repetitive basis.

While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to talk or listen; to use hands or fingers to handle or feel objects, tools, equipment or flooring materials and supplies. The employee is required to possess some dexterity in operating office equipment. The employee is required to sit and/or to stand for long periods of time; bend; stoop;

climb stairs; reach with hands and arms; and frequently walk around a warehouse or office.

Specific vision abilities required for this position include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. The noise level in the work environment is moderate to loud, depending on the level of activity that is happening in the warehouse.

The employee is required to dress for the temperatures in the warehouse, while maintaining personal safety and the ability to safely perform the duties of the job. Company‑provided PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) and the company’s safety procedures are to be employed at all times. On a daily basis, the employee is required to safely operate equipment such as sit‑down forklifts fitted with carpet poles, hand trucks, RF scanners, balers, and machines designed for measuring and cutting roll carpet and sheet vinyl.

The team environment requires each employee to practice and maintain good personal hygiene.
