We perform installation, rigging, millwrighting, and maintenance for manufacturing and industrial markets across the Southeast.

Job Summary

Southern Industrial is seeking individuals interested in getting into the trades for our next Apprenticeship program starting March 2nd 2026. Candidates should be interested in a career in one of the following trades: electrical, rigging, millwright, iron work, or pipe fitting. Welding will be offered as a secondary trade. Must be local to Raleigh, NC area, no per diem is offered.

All apprentices will go through a full-time, paid 14 week training that includes a 30 day boot camp out in the field (travel may be required during the 30 day bootcamp). After the 14 week training, all apprentices will permanently work in the field learning their trade and may be expected to travel in or out of state depending on their job assignment (per diem paid if working over 60 miles from home address).

During the training apprentices will learn about OSHA safety, life skills, and basic tools/equipment used in our industry. NCCER certifications are provided in house to those who successfully complete the initial 14 week training.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Assist with the preparation of materials needed for a job
  • Load and unload materials and tools
  • Participate in hands on training and projects for multiple trade groups
  • Operate machinery such as drills, saws, and other construction equipment under the direction of experienced workers
  • Clean and maintain equipment, tools, and construction sites
  • Assist with the erection and dismantling of temporary structures
  • Learn and follow construction plans and blueprints
  • Attend training sessions and complete coursework to enhance knowledge and practical skills
  • Other duties as needed

  • Ability to follow instructions and work in a team environment
  • Physical ability to work in varying conditions, including heights
  • Interest in construction and willingness to learn
  • High school diploma or equivalent (preferred)
