Primary Duties- Complete the repair or replacement of electrical, emergency power, fire alarm systems and related devices in Wake County facilities
- Perform preventive maintenance to maximize uptime and reliability of building infrastructure
- Assist in performing required testing of electrical, emergency power, fire alarm and related systems
- Complete routine, preventative maintenance as well as emergency work orders as assigned including power outages, fire alarm troubles, generator failures etc
- Monitors work progress completed by contractors
- Enter information on work orders including time, materials and field notes on maintenance and repairs into GSA's Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)

A criminal background and credit check will be conducted.

The Basics (RequiredEducation and Experience )
- High school diploma or GED
- Two years of experience in electrical maintenance
- Valid Driver's License and "safe" driving record
- Equivalent education and experience are accepted

Beyond the Basics (PreferredEducation and Experience )
- NC Electrical License
- NICE T Level 1
- Knowledge of commercial building Electrical Systems, Fire systems, Generators
- Ability to read blueprints, work orders and various schematics
- Knowledge of relevant Electrical codes and regulations
- Ability to work cooperatively with other trades staff
- Proven problem solving and decision-making skills
- Effective verbal and listening communication skills
- Ability to work off ladders and motorized lifts
- Ability to work on roofs and elevated structures
- Ability to operate forklifts and pallet jacks
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work with limited supervision
- Effective time management skills
