SIC Civil Heavy Equipment Operator (RAL FUJI RM)

Southern Industrial is looking for a Civil Heavy Equipment Operator for a project in Holly Springs, NC. Experienced operators of skid steers and mini excavators are invited to apply. Hired candidates will be considered for benefits and paid time off after a 3‑month period.

• Establish building lines and control points from construction drawings.
• Construct formwork and grade rod vertically and horizontally in proper alignment.
• Create control joints, mold expansion joints, and edges using a concrete saw, edging tools, jointers and straight edge.
• Install reinforcing steel and embeds according to construction drawings.
• Tie rebar, wire mesh, and all support structures.
• Place concrete from a chute, a Georgia buggy, or a pump.
• Spread concrete to specified depth and workable consistency, and finish with float, trowel, or power screed.
• Operate soil compaction equipment and concrete vibrator.
• Remove rough or defective spots from concrete surfaces using power grinder or chisel and hammer, and patch holes with fresh concrete or epoxy compound.
• Apply concrete surface treatments, curing compounds and coatings.
• Direct sub‑grade work, mixing of concrete, and setting of forms.
• Follow set procedures and standards.
• Rate information using measurable or checkable standards.
• Detect, recognize, and respond to dangerous conditions or situations.
• Maintain regular attendance.
• Significant travel may be required.
• Perform other duties as required.

• Skilled in written and verbal communication.
• Complete all safety and general job training as required by SIC.
• Observe SIC and customer safety and quality processes and procedures at all times.

• Must be able to use all required PPE and lift up to 50 pounds.
• Work in office, shop, busy traffic areas, warehouses, and undeveloped properties with frequent exposure to dirt, dust, grease, oil, vibrations, and adverse weather.
• Access all areas of property, buildings, structures, wharves, rooftops, and other elevated positions, including confined spaces.
• Perform strenuous physical demands safely.
• Operate all involved equipment and tools safely.
• Stand for long periods, bend consistently, work in confined spaces with limited access, on ladders, in personnel lifts, in workboats, and in awkward positions.
