Job Summary
Houston Skilled Consultancy is seeking a motivated and hardworking Carpenter Apprentice to join our residential construction team. This is an excellent entry‑level opportunity for individuals looking to start a career in carpentry and learn from experienced professionals. As a Carpenter Apprentice, you will assist skilled carpenters in performing tasks related to building, repairing, and finishing wooden structures in residential projects.
Key Responsibilities- Assist senior carpenters in measuring, cutting, assembling, and installing wood and related materials.
- Prepare and organize tools, equipment, and materials for daily work activities.
- Learn and follow safety standards and company procedures at all times.
- Support in building frameworks, furniture, doors, windows, cabinets, and flooring.
- Help with site preparation, clean‑up, and maintenance of a safe working environment.
- Follow instructions accurately and demonstrate willingness to learn trade techniques.
- Perform basic calculations, read simple blueprints, and use hand and power tools under supervision.
- Participate in on‑the‑job training to develop carpentry skills.
- High school diploma or equivalent (preferred but not mandatory).
- Basic understanding of construction processes and carpentry work.
- Ability to use or willingness to learn hand tools and power tools safely.
- Good physical stamina and ability to lift, carry, and move heavy materials.
- Strong attention to detail and a positive attitude toward learning.
- Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team.
- No prior professional experience required; entry‑level candidates are encouraged to apply.
- Previous exposure to construction, woodworking, or manual labor is a plus.
- Full‑time position, typically 40 hours per week
. - Standard working hours:
Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
. - Occasional overtime or weekend work may be required based on project schedules.
