Overview
The TV Security Guard is responsible for ensuring the safety of personnel, visitors, and assets at the TV station by patrolling the premises, monitoring surveillance equipment, and enforcing security protocols. This role requires vigilance to protect against unauthorized access, vandalism, and other security threats in a fast-paced media environment.
Key Responsibilities- Maintain a visible security presence within the station and surrounding property through regular patrols.
- Monitor security cameras, access control systems, and alarms to detect suspicious activity.
- Secure entry points, verify credentials, and regulate access for employees, guests, and contractors.
- Respond promptly to security incidents, disturbances, or emergency situations, coordinating with law enforcement and emergency services as necessary.
- Welcome all guests to the campus, ensure they're properly checked in and directed to the correct location.
- Document security observations, incidents, and investigative findings in detailed reports.
- Provide escort services for employees, VIP guests, and talent when necessary.
- Issue warnings and take appropriate action regarding unauthorized parking or security violations.
- Assist with crowd control and security planning for live broadcasts, high-profile interviews, and special events.
- Train station personnel on emergency procedures, including evacuation and active threat response.
- Maintain communication with security vendors and first responders to ensure a coordinated response to security concerns.
- Stay informed on industry security best practices, emerging threats, and new technologies.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to make quick, sound decisions in high-pressure situations.
- Professional demeanor with excellent customer service skills.
- Clean criminal record.
- CPR certification or willingness to obtain certification.
- Previous experience in security, law enforcement, or military police, preferably in a media, corporate, or high‑profile environment.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to stand, walk, and patrol for extended periods, including during shifts lasting up to 8‑12 hours.
- Occasional lifting of equipment, barriers, or other security‑related items (up to 50 lbs).
- Ability to respond quickly in emergencies, including running, climbing stairs, or physically intervening when necessary.
- Work may involve exposure to various weather conditions when patrolling exterior areas.
- Must have the ability to remain alert and focused in high‑pressure or fast‑paced situations.
- May be required to work overnight, weekends, and holidays based on station operations and security needs.
- Fast‑paced environment with exposure to high‑profile individuals, media professionals, and live production settings.
- Potential exposure to high‑stress situations, including managing crowds, handling security threats, or responding to emergencies.
- Indoor and outdoor work environments, including production studios, office areas, parking lots, and building perimeters.
