CompensationMaximum – Based on experience
Sign-on bonus available based on years of experience.
1 to 3 years of experience = $1,000
3 to 5 years of experience = $2,500
5 to 7 years of experience = $5,000
7 to 10 years of experience = $7,500
10+ years of experience = $10,000
What You’ll Do- Performs law enforcement duties to ensure airport security in Airfield Operations Area, remote parking lots and extended jurisdictions of airport property.
- Patrols airports campus in vehicles or on foot. Checks doors and windows and inspects security doors, gates, and other areas.
- Responds to calls for assistance, complaints, suspicious activity, disputes and loud and disruptive behavior.
- Responds to TSA screening staff and makes determinations whether to detain or charge suspicious persons. Prepares non-transferrable item reports.
- Investigates traffic accidents, issues traffic citations, and directs traffic. Participates in emergency operation activities. Operates radar equipment to apprehend speeders and slow down traffic. Apprehends and processes criminal suspects.
- Works with RDU Airport Fire-Rescue and Emergency Medical Technicians to provide medical care or crowd control services to sick or injured patients. Provides a chain of custody if a body needs to be removed from RDU Airport.
- Required: High School diploma or equivalency
- Required: Completion of the Basic Law Enforcement Training Course (BLET)
