Most activities for this position are field related. Duties, include cutting plants, planting seed, planting transplants, grafting plants, applying fertilizer, evaluating commodity quality, and harvesting.
Candidate should be able to work within a group setting as well as individually. Candidate must be able to have some flexibility in schedule and willing to perform manual labor daily.
Working conditions are very often hot and humid.
Prefer candidate to have interest in vegetable production or horticulture.
Work Schedule:
Monday-Friday, 6am-6pm is the general range of hours, start and end times will vary depending on daily travel and tasks to be completed (aim is for 40-45 hours per week, with some overtime expected during the peak season, 50-55 hours). This full time work schedule would begin in earnest in late April or May. We would also like to have some employees start as early as March, part time.
- Attend non-revenue generating sporting events for free.
