The Role and the Team

Department Overview Proofpoint is looking for a high performing Sales professional to join their Named Account team selling to Enterprise accounts (e.g., 5,000 to 50,000 mailboxes). You will have opportunities for networking, ongoing professional education, and career growth within a collaborative team.

Role Overview Manage about 20 named accounts with a mix of white space and existing customers. Work with our partner community to gain access to white space accounts while upselling and cross-selling existing customers. Sell the full Proofpoint Platform while collaborating with internal and external ecosystem partners to expand Proofpoint footprint and market leadership while protecting customers from advanced threats and targeted attacks.

The Named Account Manager reports to the Named Account Sales Director and will be based in NC (Charlotte or Raleigh).

Develop account plans for each named account; identify add-on opportunities within the incumbent book of business. Become a subject matter expert on the value the Proofpoint platform delivers and how we stack against the competition.

Responsibilities
  • Consistent track record of over achievement
  • High level of weekly activity with customers and partners
  • Maintain an active account plan
  • Deliver quarterly Customer Business Reviews
  • Secure renewals and educate on the Proofpoint Roadmap
  • Continued education on roadmap, new solutions, integrations, and industry developments
  • Deliver accurate forecast while maintaining clean Salesforce reporting
  • Be a team player and contribute to overall team success through results-driven activity
Job Requirements The What
  • Clearly develop and execute a plan with focus on forecast accuracy and Salesforce hygiene
  • Relentless attention to detail with a high level of activity including executive-level selling (CISO, CIO, CMO, etc.)
  • Strong presentation skills and technical understanding of cybersecurity
  • High sales activity: 6–10 customer and partner meetings per week, 6 hours of dedicated prospecting per week; ability to both prospect and close
The How
  • Minimum 5 years of field sales experience selling complex cybersecurity solutions or related field, managing medium to large accounts
  • Demonstrable track record of success
  • Experience working with Channel Partners and selling via two-tier distribution
  • Experience developing complex, multi-product/multi-year proposals
  • Engaged presentations focused on customer need while delivering overall solution value
  • Ability to identify customer business drivers and use case/benefit selling
  • Ability to coordinate internal and external resources while managing competing priorities
