Job Duties
The Gruen and Lascelles Programs are seeking a dedicated Research Technician to provide integrated technical support for collaborative studies in comparative behavior and translational pain research. This role focuses on coordinating laboratory operations, assisting in executing molecular and behavioral assays in pet dogs and rodents, bench top assays (e.g. ELISAs,
PCR
, Western Blots); and organizing data from behavioral assays and metadata to be toggled with bench top assays to support the advancement of clinical research findings.
Minimum Experience/
Education:
Demonstrated possession of the competencies necessary to perform the work.
- Prior experience managing and executing research projects that integrate behavioral assays with molecular/biochemical benchwork.
- Advanced proficiency in molecular techniques, specifically ELISAs,
PCR
, and Western Blots. - Demonstrated experience in the humane handling and execution of behavioral testing in both canine (pet dogs) and rodent models.
- Proven ability to organize, manage, and integrate large, disparate datasets (including metadata) for complex analysis.
- Experience in assisting with laboratory management, including writing SOPs, scheduling, and maintaining compliance and organization in a research setting.
