Position Information
Title:
Visiting Research Scholar
The Visiting Research Scholar will join Dr. Martin Thuo’s Research Group and the Center for Complex Particle Systems to conduct research on additive manufacturing and the fabrication of complex metal particles.
Work Schedule:
M-F, 30 hours per week between 8:00 AM-5:00 PM.
Responsibilities:
- Fabricating metal particles using facilities in Prof. Thuo’s laboratory
- Facilitating the 3D printing of particles and characterizing resulting microstructures, mechanical properties and composition gradients
- Facilitating the 3D printing of complex metal particles to control microstructure and mechanical properties
- Conducting research relevant to the group’s focus of complex metal particles, their microstructures, mechanical properties and beyond
- Assists in preparing presentations and writing proposals
Qualifications:
- Master of Engineering in Materials Science & Engineering or related field.
