About the Role:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) with experience in psychiatric or correctional healthcare to join our team. This role involves providing high-quality nursing care to an underserved and high-acuity population within a secure correctional or behavioral health environment.
Ideal candidates are confident, adaptable, and skilled in crisis management.
Responsibilities- Conduct nursing assessments, triage, and mental health evaluations.
- Administer medications and treatments according to facility protocols.
- Monitor patients for safety, behavioral changes, and acute psychiatric symptoms.
- Collaborate with mental health professionals, providers, and security staff.
- Respond effectively to medical and psychiatric emergencies.
- Maintain accurate documentation in accordance with facility and state standards.
- Provide patient education, crisis intervention, and therapeutic communication.
- Current RN license in the state of NC
- 1+ year of nursing experience (Psych, Behavioral Health, ER, or Corrections preferred).
- BLS certification (required).
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, secure environment.
- Strong assessment, communication, and de-escalation skills.
