Registered Nurse (RN) - Youth Detention Center | Butner, NC | Amergis Healthcare Staffing
Amergis Healthcare Staffing is hiring a compassionate RN for a 13-week contract at a Youth Detention Center in Butner, NC. This is a unique opportunity to make a difference in the lives of young individuals while gaining valuable experience in a secure, supportive environment.

Position Overview
- Location:
Butner, NC - Contract Length: 13 weeks (with strong potential for extension)
- Shift: 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM
- Schedule:
Monday - Friday | 40 hours/week - Compensation:

Direct Patient Care
- Conduct admission physical assessments for juveniles
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed
- Monitor and document health status and respond to medical emergencies
- Provide wound care, IV therapy, and chronic disease management
- Educate youth on health conditions, medication adherence, and preventive care
- Offer counseling on hygiene, nutrition, and lifestyle choices
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement treatment plans
- Write medical discharge summaries and maintain accurate medical records
- Deliver emergency medical services when needed
- Ensure adherence to infection control standards and facility safety protocols
- Maintain compliance with state regulations and juvenile justice policies
- Experience:
Minimum 1 year in correctional or behavioral health nursing (youth experience preferred) - Licensure:
Active NC RN license or multistate compact license - Skills:
Strong communication, empathy, and de-escalation techniques - Commitment:
Reliability and dedication to fulfilling the full contract term
