Position Overview

• Location:
  
  Butner, NC
• Contract Length: 13 weeks (with strong potential for extension)
• Shift: 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM
• Schedule:
  
  Monday - Friday | 40 hours/week
• Compensation:
  Competitive weekly pay - Local & Travel Rates Available

Duties and Responsibilities:

Direct Patient Care

• Conduct admission physical assessments for juveniles
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed
• Monitor and document health status and respond to medical emergencies
• Provide wound care, IV therapy, and chronic disease management

Health Education & Counseling

• Educate youth on health conditions, medication adherence, and preventive care
• Offer counseling on hygiene, nutrition, and lifestyle choices

Medical Coordination

• Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement treatment plans
• Write medical discharge summaries and maintain accurate medical records

Emergency Response

• Deliver emergency medical services when needed

Compliance & Safety

• Ensure adherence to infection control standards and facility safety protocols
• Maintain compliance with state regulations and juvenile justice policies

What We're Looking For

• Experience:
  
  Minimum 1 year in correctional or behavioral health nursing (youth experience preferred)
• Licensure:
  Active NC RN license or multistate compact license
• Skills:
  
  Strong communication, empathy, and de-escalation techniques
• Commitment:
  Reliability and dedication to fulfilling the full contract term
