Overview
The Clinical Nurse is responsible for providing comprehensive nursing care to patients and their families through the implementation of a personalized plan of care. This plan is based on the patient's developmental and healthcare needs, identified through assessment of physical, psychological, socioeconomic factors, and physician orders related to care, treatment, and education. The Clinical Nurse understands the needs of the organization and supports its mission, values, and management of patient care services.
They actively support and incorporate the ANA Scope and Standards of Nursing Practice, the North Carolina Board of Nursing Practice Act, Wake Med's Division of Nursing Professional Practice model, and Wake Med's Patient & Family Centered Care (PFCC) model. The four key concepts of PFCC are:
Dignity and Respect, Information Sharing, Participation, and Collaboration.
