The 7 HV Cardiac Medicine Intermediate Care Unit, located on the 7th floor of the Heart and Vascular Hospital, is a 24-bed intermediate care unit serving adult and geriatric patients with complex cardiac conditions and multiple co-morbidities.

Unit OverviewThe 7 HV Cardiac Medicine Unit provides intermediate-level care for patients with:
- Heart failure
- Dysrhythmias
- Myocardial infarctions
- Pre- and post-cardiac and vascular procedures
- Medical patients with significant cardiac histories and complex co-morbidities
Each patient room is equipped with GE bedside monitors and in-room computers
, supporting advanced monitoring and real-time documentation.
Care is delivered through a collaborative, interdisciplinary team model
, including Clinical Nurses, APPs, physicians, pharmacists, care managers, chaplains, patient care technicians, unit secretaries, and specialized telemetry technicians in the Telemetry Command Center
, who provide continuous rhythm surveillance and clinical support.
As a Clinical Nurse II on the 7 HV Cardiac Medicine Unit, you will:
, including cardiac rhythms, hemodynamics, and response to treatment
, as well as those admitted for medical cardiac conditions
, including cardiac drips and therapies, in accordance with policies and protocols
, escalating care as appropriate

Summary:
Provides competent clinical nursing care consistent with professional standards. Reporting to the Nurse Manager/Director, the Clinical Nurse is responsible for coordinating and delivering patient care utilizing the nursing process in a hospital setting.
