Staffing Response Team (SRT) RN - Level IV (Day Shift) - Critical Care

Role Overview
This position is ideal for nurses with Critical Care (ICU) experience. Initially, teammates will work primarily in the areas listed below. After six months, and based on departmental needs, nurses may be trained to work in additional areas to expand their skills and flexibility.
Primary Clinical Areas:
- Medical Surgical Intensive Care Unit (MSICU)
- Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU)
- Cardiovascular Surgical Intensive Care Unit (CVSICU)
- Neuroscience Intensive Care Unit (NSICU)
The ideal teammate must be willing to float between UNC Rex Raleigh and UNC Rex Holly Springs campuses. Daily assignments are based on the needs of both facilities.
Role Requirements
Teammates in this role are required to work a minimum of two clinical groupings, which include:
- Medical and Surgical (Med Surg) - counts as two clinical groupings
- Intermediate Care
- Critical Care
- Emergency Department - counts as two clinical groupings
Shift Requirements
- Day shift: 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM
- Level IV commitment: Minimum of 24 hours per week (two 12-hour shifts) during each six-week scheduling period
- Minimum of two 12-hour weekend shifts per six-week scheduling period
- Required to work two official holidays and one unofficial holiday annually

Summary:
Performs assessments, documents patient status, develops individualized plan of care, implements plan of care, evaluates status, and initiates patient education plans according to individualized needs of patient.
Responsibilities:
1. Maintains an environment of safety for patients, self and others and supports patient safety initiatives. Utilizes PPID correctly. Responds promptly to all alarms. Follows fall prevention and skin care protocols. Utilizes the Safe Patient Handling equipment appropriately.

3. Assessments are timely and a holistic approach is utilized. Recognizes subtle patient changes, informs physicians and utilizes appropriate resources. Assures that delegated tasks are completed.
4. Documents patient's assessment, care provided and response to care according to procedure. Assures that all tasks delegated to others are documented correctly. Provides reports in a thorough and concise manner and utilizes SBAR format. Assesses patient's condition, including: biophysical, psychosocial and age specific needs.
5. Develops an individualized plan of care utilizing the nursing and medical diagnosis. Collaborates with other health care team members in formulating plan of care. Initiates the plan of care upon admission. Orders…
