Overview

Indie Consulting is a fast-growing, strategy-led marketing consultancy founded in 2018. We partner with brands in CPG and beyond, fostering an empowering environment built on creativity and dedication to help clients tell their stories with clarity and impact. We value collaboration, empathy, and growth for both professionals and teams.

Role Overview:
The Marketing Strategy Consultant is a dual role—a strategic thinker and a day-to-day account driver. You’ll serve as a trusted advisor to client stakeholders, owning work streams that bring brand and business strategies to life across paid, owned, and earned channels. The role blends creativity, analytical thinking, and strong project management to deliver marketing strategies that are actionable and insightful. This position thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and is ideal for someone who can see the big picture while managing the details that keep client engagements running smoothly.

Responsibilities
  • Lead Strategic Work streams
    • Own smaller strategy projects or lead specific work streams within broader engagements, from campaign planning to content strategy to performance reporting
    • Connect business goals to marketing strategies by identifying key audiences, messaging priorities, and performance metrics
    • Develop briefs that clarify strategic direction and drive cross-functional alignment across creative, media, and digital teams
  • Drive Day-to-Day Client Success
    • Act as the connective tissue across stakeholders, ensuring clarity, alignment, and momentum across multiple work streams
    • Proactively manage timelines, deliverables, and expectations, keeping a pulse on scope, capacity, and cross-functional progress
    • Navigate shifting priorities and provide clear, confident guidance to move work forward in fluid or ambiguous moments
  • Build Trust and Strengthen Relationships
    • Foster productive relationships with client partners by actively listening, anticipating needs, and consistently delivering on promises
    • Communicate with clarity and purpose across all formats: email, decks, meetings, and working sessions
    • Present strategic recommendations with confidence and clarity, tailoring your approach to different levels of stakeholders
  • Extract Insights & Make Them Actionable
    • Synthesize diverse data points (consumer insights, media performance, competitive research) into focused strategic recommendations
    • Define KPIs and performance measures across work streams and ensure results are used to inform ongoing decisions
    • Lead reporting conversations, helping clients understand what’s working, what’s not, and where to go next
  • Operate with Initiative & Accountability
    • Flag risks early, propose thoughtful solutions, and take ownership for seeing work through to completion
    • Bring a resourceful, solution-first mindset to every challenge, from client feedback to internal bottlenecks
    • Stay organized and responsive in a dynamic environment, balancing priorities with professionalism and poise
Qualifications
  • 3+ years of experience in marketing strategy, brand management, or digital marketing, ideally in an agency or client-facing environment
  • Experience developing strategic marketing plans, content briefs, and measurement frameworks
  • Comfortable leading work streams with limited oversight and collaborating with creative, media, and data teams
  • Strong project management instincts and attention to detail; able to track tasks while keeping sight of the strategic goal
  • Confident communication skills (verbal, visual, and written) with experience presenting ideas and earning buy-in
  • Familiarity with omnichannel marketing tactics, including paid social, CRM, search, digital media, and web strategy
  • High comfort navigating ambiguity, balancing multiple priorities, and working in a fast-paced, high-accountability environment
  • Proficient in Google Workspace (Slides, Docs, Sheets, Drive) and other collaborative tools
Why Join Us?
  • Strategists at Indie influence teams, workflows, and decisions across disciplines, acting as true partners to clients and collaborators
