Position: Assembler I - 1st Shift

Eaton’s CPDI OPS Operations division is currently seeking an Assembler I – 1st Shift. At our Raleigh, NC location they engineer, manufacture, and ship products related to electrical power distribution for six different segments including Utilities, Institutions, Aerospace, and Residential.

The Assembler I role offers a 40‑hour paid work week with hours 6:00 am–2:30 pm Monday‑Friday. With full‑time employment you are offered Benefits (Medical, Dental, & Vision), a 401(k) percent‑match plan, and vacation.

Hourly rate: $18.50 per hour.

What You’ll Do

The Assembler I will build sub‑assemblies and assemblies involving complex and repetitive wiring for Uninterruptible Power Systems (UPS).

In This Function You Will
  • You will follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Build sub‑assemblies and assemblies using standard operating procedures.
  • You will be responsible for visual inspections of material before and after assembly.
  • You will use various fixtures, gauges, hand tools and power tools to assemble, adjust, or repair product.
  • You will inspect completed assemblies to ensure compliance with Raleigh Plant Quality standards and making necessary adjustments when required in order to meet quality goals.
  • You will adhere to environmental, health, safety rules and regulations.
  • You will provide process and safety improvement ideas.
  • You will ensure machines and tools are properly calibrated and perform housekeeping duties as necessary using the principles of 5S+.
Qualifications Required (Basic) Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED required from an accredited educational institution.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous experience following standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Previous experience in product assembly, electrical assembly, maintenance, and/or repair.
  • Basic soldering experience.
  • Basic computer experience, including email, internet navigation, and data entry.
Position Criteria
  • Ability to demonstrate working knowledge of the mechanical, electrical, and safety procedures of a manufacturing facility.
  • Ability to read and interpret standard operating procedures.
  • Ability to work daily and/or weekend overtime, willingness to flex to different areas or local plants as needed.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs.
  • Ability to distinguish colored wiring.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time. Repetitive lifting, bending, and squatting is inherent to this position.
