Position: Director of Business Development

Location: Raleigh, NC (Onsite)

Pay: $100,000/year

Experience: 7+ years of business development experience, preferably in fundraising/non-profits. 7 years of leadership and supervisory experience.

Education: Bachelor’s degree required.

Greene Resources is seeking a Director of Business Development to join a growing and dynamic team! Our client is a highly respected nonprofit association supporting more than 100 elected officials and their offices statewide, with national reach and impact. The organization manages a diverse portfolio of revenue-generating programs that collectively serve more than 2.2 million participants annually and generate approximately $7M in annual revenue in support of its mission.

This is a high-visibility leadership role within a professional, mission-driven environment where expectations for integrity, collaboration, and excellence are exceptionally high.

Job Description
  • Business Development & Strategy
    • Partner with executive leadership to implement the organization’s strategic plan and identify new revenue opportunities
    • Serve as the subject-matter expert for business development programs
    • Develop and oversee budgets, forecasts, and financial performance for revenue-generating initiatives
    • Establish performance metrics, evaluate program effectiveness, and recommend enhancements or new initiatives
    • Research industry trends and collaborate with peer organizations to identify partnerships and growth opportunities
  • Honorary Membership & Digital Marketing Programs
    • Lead strategy and operational oversight for membership fundraising and digital marketing programs
    • Provide strategic direction on donor trends, campaign testing, and fundraising optimization
    • Oversee production schedules for mail and digital campaigns, including a monthly e-newsletter
    • Manage external vendors and consultants and supervise membership-focused staff
  • Corporate Partnerships, Sponsor ships & Events
    • Develop and execute corporate partnership and sponsorship strategies to meet annual revenue goals
    • Build and maintain relationships with local, state, and national corporate partners
    • Develop sponsorship proposals and ensure fulfillment of partner benefits
    • Oversee exhibit halls and sponsorship activations, including large-scale events with 100+ exhibitors
    • Lead staff responsible for sponsorship execution and partner engagement
  • Procurement Programs
    • Direct procurement program operations and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
    • Oversee vendor relationships, bid processes, performance management, and program governance
    • Ensure timely execution of annual bids, program rollouts, and customer support services
  • Inmate Medical Cost Management Programs
    • Oversee the administration of inmate medical cost management and insurance-related programs
    • Serve as a resource to participating agencies regarding off-site medical claims
    • Manage vendor relationships and coordinate with county governments to ensure compliance, documentation, and payment accuracy
    • Support marketing efforts to expand participation and engagement
  • Reporting & Additional Programs
    • Prepare and present reports to executive leadership and governing committees
    • Oversee additional revenue-generating programs, including specialty license plates, online store operations, planned giving, and insurance-related initiatives
    • Perform other duties as needed to support the organization’s mission
  • Leadership & Team Management
    • Lead, mentor, and oversee the performance of managers, coordinators, and administrative staff
    • Foster a collaborative, accountable, and professional team culture
    • Demonstrate strong stewardship, emotional intelligence, and ethical leadership
Position Requirements
  • Proven success driving revenue growth through complex programs or portfolios.
  • Strong financial acumen, including budgeting, forecasting, and analysis.
  • Experience managing vendor relationships and cross-functional stakeholders.
