About the Opportunity

Are you a seasoned project leader with a passion for building and a knack for driving complex initiatives to successful completion? We are seeking an exceptional individual to step into a pivotal role, where you will not only lead critical enterprise-wide construction projects but also champion the evolution of our project management methodologies. This is more than just managing tasks; it's about making a tangible impact on our physical footprint, enhancing operational efficiency, and setting new standards for project delivery across the organization.

Your expertise will directly influence the successful execution of high-profile construction endeavors, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

This is a remote opportunity with 50% travel to job sites in Raleigh and Wilmington, NC. Candidates must reside in North Carolina to be considered.

Key Responsibilities
  • Strategic Project Leadership: Lead large, cross-functional teams in the deployment of enterprise-wide construction projects and programs, acting as the primary driver and holding ultimate accountability for project outcomes.
  • Methodology Development & Deployment: Develop, deploy, train, and provide ongoing support for project management methodologies across the corporation, ensuring best practices are consistently applied.
  • Scope & Objective Definition: Collaborate closely with stakeholders to define project scope and objectives, ensuring clarity and alignment among all team members and acting as the owner's representative in construction meetings.
  • Proactive Project Tracking & Reporting: Prepare and maintain clear, concise status reports and time management reports. Proactively track project progress, identify potential issues before they arise, and offer timely solutions for team approval.
  • Financial Oversight: Review all applications for payment by contractors, recommending necessary changes before submission for approval, and offer suggestions for cost‑effective material and shorter lead‑time substitutions.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Promote essential customer involvement, ensuring project success is directly tied to customer satisfaction. Communicate project status effectively and obtain approval for significant project updates.
  • Continuous Improvement: Champion the adoption of project management best practices, adapting approaches to suit diverse project contexts and continuously improving team skills through lessons‑learned reviews.
  • Issue Resolution & Escalation: Possess the knowledge and experience to recognize and articulate problems, bring the right people together for solutions, and ensure issues are properly addressed with appropriate urgency. Establish a culture where escalations are viewed as a positive step toward resolution.
  • Relationship Building: Serve as a role model in fostering strong working relationships among all project stakeholders, cultivating trust and open communication.
  • Effective Change Control: Implement robust change control processes to manage scope creep, communications, and quality. Participate in bid processes, reviewing construction documents to minimize change orders.
  • Empowered Decision‑Making: Drive decision‑making to the lowest possible level, empowering project members and fostering accountability.
  • Consensus & Contingency Planning: Routinely build consensus, develop comprehensive contingency plans, and provide well‑reasoned recommended solutions.
  • Documentation & Information Sharing: Maintain detailed records throughout the project lifecycle and ensure information is shared effectively with the team and management. Oversee all project submittals.
