Overview
OSP Construction Manager – Tower Engineering Professionals (TEP) is seeking a full-time Construction Manager in our Raleigh, NC office. As an OSP Construction Manager, you will serve as an integral member of our construction team. Responsibilities- Communicate schedules and priorities, construction standards, and task delegation to sub-contractors and TEP inspectors, and communicate effectively with customers and authorities having jurisdiction (homeowners, inspectors, and other contractors).
- Coordinate proposed work, track production, and drive quality and safety standards with sub-contractors in accordance with project specifications.
- Report current and future production and challenges to management.
- Monitor and ensure schedule performance and quality workmanship of sub-contractors; review and approve contractor payment requests.
- Manage, maintain, and grow vendor relations across various projects and manage multiple customers.
- Use local market knowledge to find new clients/customers to grow the TEP Fiber customer base.
- Prepare competitive project bids and maintain a 25% profit margin throughout the construction process.
- Maintain/generate a monthly income target (e.g., for the Tampa Construction Office) as part of financial planning.
- Collaborate with upper management on yearly budgets, goals, and expectations.
- Participate in interviewing and recruiting per team needs (e.g., Splicer or Operators).
- Minimum 5 years of experience with Directional Drilling equipment, including Directional Drill Rigs, trenching equipment (mini excavators, ditch witch, plows, etc.), and aerial installation methods.
- Minimum 5 years of experience with Horizontal Directional Drilling standards, including 811 services, all DOT and local municipality general requirements, and OSHA safety requirements.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, including generating redlines and As-Builts.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills to work with project managers, vendors, sub-contractors, and customers.
- Physical ability to stand, bend, squat, walk, move, lift, and carry equipment (>50 lb) for the duration of the workday.
- Ability to travel 3–5 days per week.
- Experience with Google Earth and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, One Note);
Smartsheet and Box experience preferred. - Self-disciplined and self-motivated.
- Valid driver’s license and a clean motor vehicle report (MVR) dating back 5 years.
