The part-time Maintenance Technician supports the Maintenance department at the Raleigh Convention Center and Red Hat Amphitheater to ensure our maintenance operations run smoothly and attendees have a memorable experience.
Ideal Candidate- Experience in general maintenance
- The ability to troubleshoot and problem-solve, keeping calm under pressure
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, effectively interacting with others.
- A commitment to safety, adhering to all protocols and procedures
- The ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends and holidays, as determined by venue events
The Maintenance Technician at the Raleigh Convention Center is part of a venue that has a significant economic and cultural impact to Raleigh, holding hundreds of prominent convention and entertainment events each year. Key Responsibilities- Maintain and repair the facility, keeping the venue impressive to the public
- Conduct preventative maintenance to ensure everything runs smoothly, maximizing equipment lifespan and minimizing downtime
- Respond promptly to customer requests and troubleshoot technical issues efficiently
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, promoting safety and efficiency
High School Diploma or GED and two years of maintenance experience related to assignment
OR
Any equivalent combination of training and/or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities may be substituted
Knowledge,Skills and Abilities
- Experience in general maintenance, with a strong understanding of mechanical and electrical systems
- A knack for troubleshooting and problem-solving, keeping calm under pressure

- The ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends and holidays, as determined by venue events
Positions in this class typically require: stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, lifting, fingering, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, seeing and repetitive motions.
Heavy WorkExerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
Working ConditionsWork is performed in both the field and in an indoor office environment with moderate exposure to atmospheric conditions (such as fumes, odors, dusts, gases, poor ventilation, etc.); moderate exposure to environmental conditions (such as disruptive people, imminent danger, or a threatening environment); and frequent exposure to intense noise.
