Grounds​/Janitorial Service Technician; Piedmont

Position Overview

Van Metre is hiring a Grounds/Janitorial Service Technician for The Piedmont Raleigh Apartments in Raleigh, NC.

• Clubhouse and common area amenity cleaning/janitorial needs; empty trash daily, sweep, mop, vacuum, dust, clean windows, disinfect restrooms and high‑touch areas, etc.
• Restock supplies.
• Complete grounds work such as grounds pickup, sweeping, pressure cleaning.
• Apply or learn skills in electrical, plumbing, carpentry, masonry and painting.
• Repair and treat structures such as showers, sinks, appliances, doors/cabinets, walls and building exteriors.
• Assist maintenance technician/supervisor with make‑ready units for new move‑ins.
• Assist with scheduling and completion of preventive maintenance program.
• Coordinate special projects as directed.

The Technician must maintain a professional and courteous manner with residents, visitors, contractors and fellow employees. Must have the necessary skills to complete tasks, follow oral and written instructions, and maintain effective cooperative working relationships. This is a full‑time position requiring the ability to stand and walk around the property for most of the day.

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Valid Driver’s License and reliable transportation required.

• Salary: $16.00–$18.00 per hour (pay commensurate with experience, education, training, and skills).
