The Opportunity
An opportunity has arisen for an Associate to join a growing litigation team in Sydney, with a focus on commercial litigation, dispute resolution, and insolvency matters. The successful candidate will play a key role in managing complex disputes, delivering strategic legal advice, and representing clients across all court jurisdictions. This role suits a lawyer with strong technical capability, sound judgment, and the confidence to operate with autonomy while contributing to a collaborative team environment.
Yournew role
- Managing commercial litigation and dispute resolution matters from inception to resolution
- Advocacy in court appearances and mediations
- Running litigation and insolvency matters with autonomy, including matters progressing to trial
- Drafting high-quality correspondence, advice, and court documents (pleadings, applications, affidavits)
- Preparing briefs to Counsel, experts, and agents
- Applying a strong working knowledge of State and Federal Court rules
- Reviewing and settling court documents, advice, and correspondence
- Supervising and mentoring junior lawyers and paralegals
- Managing and maintaining strong client relationships
- Be an enthusiastic, positive team contributor
- Be a self-starter with strong organisational skills and the ability to meet deadlines
- Demonstrate high professional and ethical standards
- Be a confident communicator, both verbally and in writing
- Align with the firm's values and collaborative culture
- Be committed to supporting the firm's growth, reputation, and client relationships
